[In the article “Does Diffusion-Weighted Imaging Represent the Ischemic Core? An Evidence-Based Systematic Review” by P.G. Kranz and J.D. Eastwood (AJNR Am J Neuroradiol 30:1206–12)](http://www.ajnr.org/lookup/volpage/30/1206?iss=6), the first sentence of the abstract should read: Diffusion-weighted (DWI) hyperintensity is hypothesized to represent irreversibly *infarcted* tissue (ischemic core) in the setting of acute stroke. The *Journal* regrets this error.
