AB SUMMARY: The arachnoid membranes are projections of connective tissue in the subarachnoid space that connect the arachnoid mater to the pia mater. These are underappreciated and largely unrecognized by most neuroradiologists despite being found to be increasingly important in the pathogenesis, imaging, and treatment of communicating hydrocephalus.
